The following pictures are my final two designs from my final capsule. I'm really proud with the final outcomes and really enjoyed this module. Hope you all enjoyed the journey with me. Please enjoy reading through my blogs and have a good day!!!
PORTFOLIO PRESENTATION SHEETS
Here, I have my four portfolio presentation sheets. The sheets contains all my researches, silhouette pages, colour board, fabric board, my final lineups, toile progression and my final outfits. A quicker way of showing the whole development processes how the ideas developed into a final collection.
FINAL LINEUP (COLLECTION: HANA)
Here, I have my final line ups. The name of the collection is "HANA" which means Flowers in Japanese. My designer was a Japanese designer "Rei Kawakubo" and all my researches are based on Japanese tradition and culture specially focusing mainly on the "KIMONO". I looked into various aspects of the Japanese culture. I also looked into the KIMONO from the ancient period. And from all the development of my ideas, these are my final line ups.
TAILORING WORKSHOP
One of the fun part of this semester was that there was a interesting workshop which I really enjoyed was TAILORING WORKSHOP. We were basically taught through the making of a basic tailored jacket. We even deconstructed a tailored jacket and basically looked into its parts in details. At the end of the workshop, we had to make our own tailored jacket taking in all the knowledge that we gained through the work shop. The pictures below are the exercises that we did during the workshop and also my tailor jacket that I did for it.
REI KAWAKUBO COLLBORATION WITH H&M
REI KAWAKUBO COLLBORATION WITH H&M
Kawakubo created the 2008 autumn "GUEST DESIGNER" collection at H&M. She designed for both men's and women's clothing along side with some children's and a unisex perfume. I looked through the designs and it was really inspiring regarding fabrics, colour and silhouette. The fabrics used were eye catchy and also the silhouette that gave out the effect was very beautiful and interesting.
WHITE DRAMA EXHIBITION - REI KAWAKUBO
WHITE DRAMA
I came across this exhibition of COMME DES GARCON, Rei Kawakubo's exhibition which I thought was really interesting and very inspiring. The whole concept behind this exhibition was to magnify the main stages of life: birth, marriage, death and transcendence. Here, are some pictures from the exhibition which I found very inspiring and very interesting to look at.
WHITE DRAMA is a tour de force as it emanates from these architectures scholarly fashion an immaterial dimension that affects the spiritual and transports you into the world of unclassified REI KAWAKUBO.
